BIOL 443/543: Plant Ecology

Expands on general principles of ecology to focus on the biotic and abiotic factors that affect the abundance and distribution of plants including direct and indirect interactions and their effect on community organization. Laboratory and field work are an important part of this course.

BIOL 404/504: Wetlands

An introduction to wetland ecology and management. Topics include hydrology, geomorphology, soils, biogeochemistry, adaptations of organism to inundation and anoxia, ecological functions, invasive species, classifications, succession, delineation, restoration, and creation. Laboratory and field work are an important part of this course.

BIOL 106: General Biology II (Lecture and Laboratory)

The study of biological processes at the organismal level including a survey of life forms (i.e., viruses, bacteria, protists, fungi, plant, and animals), their evolution and their ecology. Laboratory and discussion sections focus on problem solving and hands-on investigation of diverse life forms.
